Below is a "walk-thru" for entering scores for Kindergarten students. Depending on scores, you may branch and skip some of these steps and that's okay. When running reports, the software will automatically account for any entries skipped due to branching rules.

To get to the scores screen for a particular student, click File from the main menu, then Students. When the student grid appears, click the Scores link beside the student that you want to enter scores for. Also, you can click the Info link to view the basic student information and then click the Scores button located on the Info page.

To skip past a task (that was not given due to branching rules), just press Enter or the down arrow key. You can use the up arrow key to go back up through the task list as well.

If you administered tasks, even when the branching rules allowed you to skip them, you can still enter those scores. If the student was developed on the screening and you did NOT give the inventory portion, be sure to check the checkbox that signifies that the inventory was skipped. When reports are generated, branching rules are enforced and any "information only" scores you have entered won't affect the report.

There is quite a bit of code that is executing each time you press a key. For example, after you enter the date, the screen may flicker a bit and then the cursor will be placed on the task that immediately follows the date you entered. Try not to get ahead of yourself and allow the code to execute before pressing keys repeatedly. After entering a few scores, you'll get the hang of it. NOTE: When you type in a date, be sure to enter 2 digits for each section. For example, to enter September 3, 2004, enter it as 09/03/04, NOT 9/3/04. Also be aware that you can simply enter the digits and the slashes in the date will be inserted automatically. After entering a date, the screen may take a few moments to reset (and renable the appropriate text boxes, etc.) The date entered for the screening will be copied as the inventory date, so you don't have to enter two dates for the same test.
